The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has put forward the initiative about introduction of new sanctions against Russian citizens and companies after the incident in the Kerch Strait. He said this in an interview to ICTV channel.

According to Lutsenko, he sent a letter to Peter Poroshenko NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov.

As stated by the attorney General, the Ukrainian authorities should enter in regard «to certain individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation of personal special economic and other restrictive measures».

Lutsenko, in particular, called for the freezing of assets of Russian representatives in the country «to the full de-occupation».

According to the public Prosecutor, it is necessary to consider the introduction of sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities, as «in some areas they have a monopoly» in Ukraine.

«Sure it’s time to put an end to the business of Russians in the country», — Lutsenko emphasized.

Constraints on navigation

On possible anti-Russian sanctions because of the incident in the Black sea, said the Director of the political Department of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry, Alexei Makeev, who arrived in Brussels to participate in the negotiations in NATO.

He particularly urged to apply for Russian ships, a ban on visits to the ports of Europe. In his opinion, the restrictions need to be imposed on those who led the guards.

Makeev also expressed regret that the imposition of sanctions is not a popular idea in Brussels and some capitals of Europe.

Provocation of the Ukrainian Navy

On the morning of 25 November, the ships of naval forces of Ukraine «Berdyansk», «Nikopol» and «Yana Kapu» violated the Russian state border, and then for several hours, made dangerous maneuvers, ignoring the legitimate demands of the Russian authorities.

It was decided to detain violators. Three Ukrainian sailors were slightly injured. All on Board the detained ships were 24 military, including the staff of SBU. They were signed by the court into custody on charges of violating the state border.

Kiev accused Moscow of committing aggression. On the territory of ten regions of Ukraine under martial law, giving the authorities the possibility to temporarily restrict the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, in particular the right to participate in elections.

Vladimir Putin called the incident in the Kerch Strait in advance planned provocation, which is associated with a low rating of Petro Poroshenko in the presidential election. The Russian leader stressed that the guards had performed their functions for the protection of the state border.
