The Russian writer Andrei Bitov is cremated, then his ashes buried alongside his parents in St. Petersburg, told RIA Novosti in the press service of Rospechat.

Earlier it was reported that Andrei Bitov died in Moscow at the age of 81 years. Farewell will be held on 7 December at the Central house of writers in Moscow. As specified in Rospechat, the funeral of the writer will be held in the chapel of the Holy virgin, after which his body was cremated.

«Writer Andrey Bitov was cremated and will be buried in St. Petersburg», — said in Rospechat.

As reported RIA Novosti, the granddaughter of writer Pauline Bazhenova, he will be buried at the Shuvalov cemetery. «Farewell and cremation will be on Friday in Moscow. In St. Petersburg will be buried in the circle of relatives at the Shuvalov cemetery,» she said, without specifying the date of the funeral.

Bits is one of the founders of Soviet postmodernism. He is a recipient of numerous Russian and international literary awards, the author of the novels «the Pushkin house», «Man in landscape», «the Georgian album». The works of writer translated into almost all European languages.
