American actor Philip Bosco, who received a Tony award for her role in the play «Borrow the tenor!» in 1989, died Monday in the United States at the age of 88 years, reported to Facebook his grandson Luke Bosco.

«My beloved grandfather, the indomitable force in the theatre and a man of great generosity, passed away last night. We will not soon forget your grace, courage, strong will and the love that you so easily found around. You are my hero and a hero for many young actors», — he wrote.

For the first time, Bosco was nominated for a Tony award in 1960, then he was nominated four more times, and in 1989 he became the winner of the award.

He starred in many films, including the film «Savages,» «the first wives Club», «Three men and a baby», «Kate & Leopold» and others.
