The minimum wage in the Leningrad region will increase from January 1, 5.3%, reported to journalists the Governor of the region Alexander Drozdenko.

«The minimum wage in the Leningrad region will increase by 5.3% from 1 January 2019. The corresponding growth is a signed today a tripartite agreement to conduct in the Leningrad region socio-economic policy and development of social partnership in 2019-2021 years,» the Governor said.

The document was developed jointly by the government of the Leningrad region, the Leningrad Federation of trade unions and regional Association of employers — Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of the Leningrad region.

«We have a nice triumvirate of regional authorities, trade unions and employers, able to find compromises and to solve the issues of development of regional economy, taking into account the protection of the interests of both workers and owners of enterprises», — said the head of the region.

The average wage in Leningrad region now exceeds 42 thousand rubles. The situation on the labour market in the region is stable, the level of registered unemployment on December 1, 2018 amounted to 0.3% of the economically active population.
