The government of the U.S. state of Texas on Tuesday executed the death penalty for convicted police killer in 2000, according to the website of the Department of criminal justice Texas state.

Joseph Christopher Garcia born in 1971 December 13, 2000 along with six accomplices escaped from a maximum security prison in Texas, where he was serving a 50-year sentence for «murder with a deadly weapon». After escaping 24 Dec men shot and killed 31-year-old police officer during the robbery of the store.

Garcia pleaded not guilty in the murder of a policeman and claimed to have been inside the store when she heard shots outside, tried to stop the violence and he nearly got hit by a bullet. However, according to the laws of the state, as Garcia was involved in the robbery, he was responsible for the murder along with other accomplices in the crime.

According to the site deathpenaltyinfo.org the execution of Garcia by lethal injection became 22-m, the execution of a death sentence in the United States and the 12th in Texas. In 2017, the United States executed 23 people.
