More than 40% of Russians believe that in the future relations between Russia and Ukraine will be restored as friends and allies, according to the poll.

These studies were cited within the opinion poll in connection with the incident in the Kerch Strait, when three ships of the Ukrainian Navy with 24 sailors violated the state border of Russia and was arrested.

According to sociologists, 43% of respondents to the question, how they see the overall future of Russian-Ukrainian relations, replied that they must sooner or later be restored as friends and allies.

Another 34% believe that relations are normalised, but the friendly and fraternal, as before, it will never be.

While 16% of Russians said that relations between the two countries will continue to deteriorate. Another 7% were undecided.

The initiative Russian opinion «polls-Sputnik» held on 27 November 2018. The survey involved the Russians at the age from 18 years. Survey method – telephone interviews in a stratified random sample of dibasic landline and mobile numbers 1,600 respondents. The sample is based on the complete list of phone numbers involved in the territory of the Russian Federation. Data weighted for probability of selection and socio-demographic parameters. For a given sample size the maximum error with 95% probability does not exceed 2.5%.
