The leader of the party «Batkivshchyna» ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, who is going to run for President, announced his intention to return to the Crimea and the Donbass.

«We are already developing a plan of reintegration and reconstruction of the occupied territories, <…> which, of course, would be returned,» she wrote on Facebook.

Tymoshenko also said that on a visit to USA and in all the meetings discussing the need to comply with the Budapest Memorandum and of the negotiations in the format of «Budapest plus» with the leaders of the signatory countries and with the involvement of the high Commissioner of the EU and German leadership.

«The offensive on the diplomatic front in the format of «Budapest plus» is part of our new strategy for peace and security. Other components for victory is the strengthening of the Ukrainian army and the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, as well as legal action to recover compensation,» she explained.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine inherited a substantial nuclear Arsenal. However, in 1994, Kiev joined the Treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons (NPT) and has signed the Budapest Memorandum with Moscow, Washington and London. The document guaranteed the security of Ukraine, after which its nuclear Arsenal has been eliminated.
