The Agency of the Far East to attract investment and support exports (IPA) as the most promising for cooperation with investors in areas recently included in the far Eastern Federal district of Buryatia and Zabaykalsky Krai determined the extraction of solid minerals, forestry, and agriculture and health, told RIA Novosti the head of the Agency Leonid Petukhov.

«The TRANS-Baikal region, we see about 60-70 large projects with an investment of 600 billion rubles. If the industry is to break, it turns out that the TRANS-Baikal region the priority is mining of solid minerals, agriculture, forest, transport and logistics. In Buryatia in the lead is also mining of solid minerals, forest, health. Project logistics is not so urgent as in Transbaikalia», — said Petukhov.

He also outlined the range of countries from which to attract investors for projects in designated sectors of the economy.

«On mining projects traditional partners are China and Japan. The forest is rather Japan, Indonesia, India and the Republic of Korea. It is those investors, which we are now winding up in the forest industry in the far East,» he listed the head of the API.

Assessing the prospects of cooperation in the agricultural sector, he recalled the work carried out by API on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister- presidential envoy to FEFD Yuri Trutnev, when abandoned land that is «lost to the economy,» to identify and put on the cadastral account, to pay for projects to investors. «Here we are trying to form a balanced portfolio. Priority will be given to Russian investors. Also there are investors from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and even from Australia,» said Petukhov.
