Evening auction «old masters» in London bring Sotheby’s more than 30 million pounds, reported RIA Novosti the representative of the auction house.

Top lot of the auction, as expected, was «a Study of head and folded hands a young man, or Christ in prayer» by Rembrandt. The work offered at auction for the first time in 60 years, was sold for almost $ 9.5 million pounds in the evaluation of 6-8 million. Before the exhibition at the Louvre in 2011, in the process of technical examination and restoration, the painting was discovered fingerprints allegedly belonging to the artist.

Until recently, the work was exhibited in the Rembrandt Museum in Amsterdam, and hung in the hall, which was previously the bedroom of the artist.

A landscape by Jacob van Razdela «Panoramic view of Haarlem», estimated at 1,5-2 million pounds, was sold for 2.6 million.
