The development of medicine in Moscow will remain one of the most important priorities of the government of the city in the coming years, said the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, speaking at the XVII Assembly «Health of Moscow».

«Nothing more precious than the health of the Muscovites, the people, the citizens do not exist. We clearly understand this, understand this request, and healthcare in Moscow definitely will not stand,» said the mayor, noting that the Muscovites were more positive attitude to the success of urban health.

According to him, today the Moscow state of medicine is located in the middle of the leading countries of the world. «I believe health care will be one of the best in the world. I believe this task we shoulder,» said the mayor.

He also noted that the indicators seen today in the Moscow healthcare system, impressive. «The availability of doctors in our clinics has increased 8-10 times, decreased waiting time. Significantly increased the number of high-tech medical care», — said the mayor.

However, he noted that we need to pay attention to the modernization of hospitals. «In the near future will Refine the targeted investment program and will determine plans for the construction of new buildings for the next five years,» said the mayor.

He recalled that Moscow at the time, bought a lot of modern medical equipment. «But when we look at the end of seven or eight years, a lot of equipment morally and physically obsolete. And if we systematically failed to address this problem, five years later, we rolled down on the 2010 level. This is unacceptable,» he added.
